Mending Hearts - a comprehensive update in Cardiology

An educational seminar on 5th May 2018 presents an interactive day for GPs, non-cardiology physicians and paramedics, to meet and consult experts in Cardiology and share knowledge, experiences and emerging evidence in treatment options for Cardiovascular disease (CVD).

CVD - a collective term for diseases of the heart and blood vessels - is the leading cause of death and disease burden in Australia. Diseases such as coronary heart disease, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease and stroke can be life-threatening. When it comes to chronic cardiac conditions – we know comprehensive care is needed and GPs play a critical role in assisting people in the management of their chronic conditions.

The day will cover expert views, evidence updates and case studies in: diagnoses of cardiac conditions; structural and rhythm disorders; non-structural heart conditions, and the latest treatments available on the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS).

The event is a Category 1 ALM event (40 points).
