Insulin in Practice

Developed in partnership between the Alfred Care Group, Bayside Health, and the South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN), and supported by the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) a division of the Australian Diabetes Society (ADS), the series provides practical, case based education aligned with Australian guidelines and the realities of general practice. Originally developed for the SEMPHN region, the series is now open to health professionals across Victoria.

Across the 10 part series, experienced endocrinologists and multidisciplinary experts will cover the full spectrum of type 2 diabetes management—from early detection and lifestyle intervention to complex pharmacotherapy, technology, and prevention and management of complications including cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, foot disease, frailty and atypical diabetes.

What to expect

• Evidence based, GP focused education
• Practical guidance on medications, insulin, and diabetes technology
• Integrated care approaches linking primary and tertiary services
• Case discussions with endocrinologists, GPs, diabetes educators and allied health professionals
• Sessions aligned to RACGP curriculum and CPD requirements

This series forms part of SEMPHN’s and Bayside Health’s Connecting Care for Complex Chronic Disease (4CD) initiative and aims to strengthen collaboration, improve patient outcomes, and build sustainable diabetes care pathways.  

All sessions will be recorded. Registrants can access previous recordings following registration.
