HIV s100 Prescriber Case Discussion

With a long established history of HIV s100 Prescriber Case Study groups delivered by VHHITAL and the Alfred Health team, ASHM is now working in collaboration with Bayside Health (formerly Alfred Health) to co-host this session, with an additional series set to launch in 2027.

This discussion group will give clinicians the opportunity to discuss cases and integrate the latest evidence into diagnosis and management strategies in their practice. Through peer discussion and expert facilitation, participants will explore complex treatment decisions, including antiretroviral therapy selection, medication interactions, adverse effects, and the application of current HIV clinical guidelines. 

Learning outcomes:

• Identify concerns and formulate a management plan for antiretroviral therapy involving HIV treatment and s100 antiretroviral therapies using current evidence and clinical guidelines. 
• Identify adverse effects, drug-drug interactions, and medication-related problems associated with HIV therapies and co-prescribed medicines. 
• Describe patient-centred treatment plans that consider a range of factors such as individual circumstances, comorbidities, ageing, adherence, and patient preferences in people living with HIV. 
• Reflect on HIV prescribing practice and your approach to comorbidity monitoring, cancer screening and prevention to improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of care for people living with HIV, along with patient experience. 
• Reflect on personal and systemic factors that may contribute to stigma and discrimination in HIV care and identify barriers and enablers in your practice along with opportunities to improve clinical practice.
