Supporting the workforce

North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) is funding the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) to deliver its Cultiv-8 Nurse Clinics Program for up to eight eligible general practices and primary health care organisations. Join this information session to discover how this this free training course can help your organisation bring a nurse-led clinic idea to life.

The eight-week program helps primary care organisations design practical, sustainable nurse clinics. It supports practice nurses and their teams to build the skills, confidence and clinical leadership needed to plan models of care that improve access, strengthen multidisciplinary teamwork and make better use of nurses’ full scope. The course starts on Tuesday, 23 February, 2027. Applications close Friday, 4 December, 2026.

In this online information session, APNA’s Margaret Dempsey, Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator, will introduce the Cultiv-8 program and explain how participants will use the nurse clinic building blocks to design a nurse-led, team-based model of care that meets local community needs and can be implemented within their organisation.

The session will also cover the program structure, eligibility requirements and NWMPHN’s Expression of Interest process. It is recommended for general practices and primary health care organisations in the NWMPHN catchment that are interested in participating in the 2027 Cultiv-8 Nurse Clinics Program. More information is available on the Expression of Interest webpage.
