Cancer Council Victoria is offering a free Nurse Ambassador Program for practice nurses looking to broaden their scope of practice to include cancer screening and prevention activities across their whole organisation, with a focus on under-screened communities.
The Nurse Ambassador Program provides practice nurses with the latest clinical knowledge about the four national cancer screening programs (bowel, breast, cervical and lung) and viral hepatitis, so they can effectively discuss and endorse cancer screening participation and drive cancer screening uptake in their practice.
The program will also focus on how to engage and support underscreened communities in cancer screening and achieve health equity for all Australians.
Nurses will be recognised as a ‘Nurse Cancer Screening Ambassador’ after completing a series of four online webinars and submitting a reflective practice activity.
The next program will be running March 2026 and will be delivered online via Zoom on the following dates.
Webinar 1: Thursday, 12 March 2026, 1pm – 3pm
Webinar 2: Tuesday, 17 March 2026 1pm – 3pm
Webinar 3: Thursday, 26 March 2026 1pm – 3pm
Webinar 4: Tuesday, 31 March 2026 1pm – 3pm
This program is FREE and open to all practice nurses in Victoria! Click here to register.
