Expression of Interest: GP to join Parkville LHSN Primary Care and Population Health Advisory Committee

The Parkville Local Health Service Network is seeking expressions of interest from general practitioners to join the Parkville LHSN’s Primary Care and Population Health Advisory Committee (PCPHAC).

The Parkville PCPHAC is a key advisory group reporting to the Boards of the health services that make up the Parkville Local Health Service Network (LHSN). They are Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Children’s Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Dental Health Services Victoria, and Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

Help shape the future of primary care and population health in the Parkville region

The role of the PCPHAC is to:

  • Advise on primary care and population health needs and priorities for the Parkville LHSN and its member services.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen integration and coordination between community, primary care, and the Parkville LHSN.
  • Provide recommendations to align primary care and population health initiatives with the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2023–2027.
  • Support partnerships with local organisations and community health providers.

Who can join?

The Parkville PCPHAC is seeking a general practitioner (GP) who:

  • Practices in West Melbourne, Merri-bek, or Moonee Valley regions.
  • Is a frequent referrer to the Parkville LHSN health services and has strong contextual knowledge of the region.
  • Can provide insight into the needs of local populations and service integration.

What is involved?

  • Attend 2–4 meetings per year (commencing from 2026), with a preference for face-to-face meetings but hybrid options available. Each meeting will be approximately two hours in duration.
  • Committee appointments are for an initial term of two years. Committee members are eligible for re-appointment thereafter, subject to a maximum term of four years.
  • Members will be remunerated as per NWMPHN’s Stakeholder Reimbursement Policy.
