New brochures promoting the role of supported decision-making and the importance of communication in medical decision-making are now available to download from the Office of the Public Advocate website.

They are:

  • an easy read brochure for patients
  • a brochure for health practitioners, which includes stories from people with cognitive impairment about their experiences.

The brochures were developed by Reinforce, a self-advocacy organisation run for, and by, people with an intellectual disability, and the Office of the Public Advocate, an independent statutory body that safeguards the rights and interests of people with disability in Victoria, funded by a grant from the Victoria Law Foundation.
