Did you know that HIV and hepatitis B can be safely treated and managed in general practice?
Many patients do not need a referral to a specialist and can be cared for by a local GP reducing possible long trips and/or waiting times at hospital clinics.
The Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training and Learning (VHHITAL) program delivers comprehensive education and training for GPs on the diagnosis, treatment and management of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections (STI).
If you would like to know more about the VHHITAL program, or you are a GP who is interested in becoming a s100 prescriber, please visit nwmphn.org.au/vhhital or contact Julie.firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (03) 8578 0536.
