Join this Zoom webinar to find out more about Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD), and its relevance to the practice of psychologists, social workers and other clinicians working in mental health.

This session will provide an overview of:

  • VAD Legislation- who can access VAD, what is the required assessment process for people seeking VAD, what are the legal responsibilities of health professionals?
  • The possible roles for mental health professionals in both the assessment process and in providing therapeutic support and intervention to individuals and families involved in VAD
  • Clinical and ethical issues that may be raised for clinicians.

The session will be facilitated by the Voluntary Assisted Dying Care Navigators and you will be able to send or ask questions during the session.

Survey/Expression of Interest: Before and following attendance at the webinar you are invited to complete a short survey exploring attitudes and experiences with VAD and interest in working with VADrelated issues. You have an option to submit an EOI to receive future referrals from the navigator service for individuals/families needing psychological services in this area (you are welcome to register for the webinar even if not intending on submitting an EOI).
