As a rural generalist you see it all. Your morning might start with a patient suffering from a common cold, and by the afternoon you could be faced with the need to deliver a baby. We can help prepare you with the necessary skills for dealing with third trimester emergencies in our Rural Emergency Obstetrics Training (REOT) course.

This course covers both normal birthing procedures as well as common birthing emergencies to help build you confidence for any situation you may be faced with. Run by both midwives and doctors, this course provides you with an understanding of different situations with different perspectives. Situations are simulated with the course providers on hand to discuss learning opportunities and help you experiment with the available equipment.

Learning outcomes:

REOT provides you with:

  • An opportunity to learn directly from rural doctors and midwives
  • Skills in normal birth procedures
  • Skills in common birthing emergencies, and
  • Essential knowledge and skills relevant to any type of doctor in any location.
