This informative and interactive training will aim to improve the confidence of general practitioners to effectively identify populations suitable for the use of PrEP and to confidently prescribe as a strategy for the prevention of HIV transmission.

Pre Exposure Prophyslaxis (PrEP) has been proven highly effective at reducing HIV transmission and there has been an increased community demand for its prescription.
On the 1st April 2018, PrEP was  listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). GPs are now be able to prescribe PrEP, and community pharmacies  are able to dispense it.
