The Royal Women's Hospital invites General Practitioners to come and increase their knowledge and skill sets in PCOS and endometriosis diagnosis and management.
Obtaining a timely diagnosis of dysmenorrhoea is challenging for women, with many experiencing delays with multiple different doctors involved. Inadequate information provision and lack of satisfaction with care has been reported, especially in areas such as psychological features, lifestyle and prevention. Doctors often focus on individual features of such as infertility, rather than taking a broader approach to care. Access to timely, accurate diagnosis and information provision needs significant improvement.
This session will guide GPs about assessing, investigating, managing and referring adolescents and women having dysmenorrhoea.
Note: this session will be held in Seminar room 7 D, Royal Women's Hospital, 20 Flemington Road, Parkville
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session, General Practitioners will be able to:
- Describe the referral criteria for women or adolescent women with dysmenorrhea
- Identify the supports and systems required for managing dysmenorrhea
- Manage sever menstrual pain in GP practice
