The Royal Children’s Hospital and Royal Women’s Hospital GP Liaison, in collaboration with the North Western Melbourne Melbourne Primary Health Network , are hosting a seminar for community health care providers, including GPs, shared maternity care affiliates, community nurses and midwives.

Presentations will include vascular birthmarks and neonatal rashes, genetic testing and screening, fetal movements and growth restriction, and IVF / assisted reproduction, with updates on cervical screening and the state-wide paediatric HealthPathways project.
 

Learning outcomes:

  • Outline the diagnosis and management options available for vascular birthmarks and neonatal rashes including appropriate timing of referral
  • Explain pre-test information for population carrier screening in relation to pregnancy and when a referral to genetic services is required
  • Identify and refer women with decreased foetal movement and small or large for gestational age foetus on time to the specialist
  • Implement cervical cancer screening recommendations, including tests and management of clinician‑collected sample test results 
  • Explain current assisted reproductive technology including referrals and counselling for patients
