Are you a registered or enrolled nurse who is wishing to learn more about caring for a dying person? This one-day workshop is a must for generalist registered and enrolled nurses working in the non-palliative care setting who would like to know more about caring for dying patients.

The program will be presented by:
Experienced palliative care nurses who will facilitate the workshop.

Program Objectives
• To recognise the signs that suggest a person is likely to be imminently dying
• To anticipate the symptoms common in dying patients and understand how to respond with evidence based strategies to manage both the patient and the family’s needs
• To explore some communication skills for nurses when communicating with dying patients and their families
• To be familiar with the Victorian legislative changes as they relate to decision making

Certificates with record of CPD hours available.
