Webinar

Presented by the National Asthma Council, this session focuses on managing asthma in the paediatric population. Incorporating the latest guidelines from the Australian Asthma Handbook, it provides up to date, evidence-based asthma management information for treating 0–12 months, 1–5-year-old, and 6–11-year-old age groups in primary care.

Speaker - Alanna Hoye, Asthma Educator

Alanna been employed as an Asthma Educator since 2001 for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Asthma Service. The Asthma Service delivers a self-management asthma education program to adult and paediatric asthma patients. The aim of the program is to improve asthma health outcomes and reduce hospitalisations.

Alanna has been presenting for the National Asthma Council for over 10 years and her professional interests are in allergy and smoking cessation. She has obtained her post graduate certificate in allergy nursing which is complimentary to her asthma role. In the last 3 years our service has evolved in supporting patients who have severe asthma and are prescribed biologics.
