This session occurs in 2 parts.
Part (1) is on Tuesday the 19th of May 6.00pm-7.30pm
Part (2) is on Tuesday the 26th of May 6.00pm-7.30pm.

This session will cover the following:
- Purpose and aim of Accreditation including benefits and opportunities it provides for broader QI activities
- Overview of the Accreditation process (registration, self-assessment, survey visit)
- Structure of the standards (5th edition)
- How to get organised and prepare for the accreditation using a whole of practice team approach
- Closer look at the most common indicators/criterion that clinics find challenging, along with tips and resources
Magali has been working in general practice for the past 15 years. As a Registered Nurse she’s worked in clinical settings varying from solo GP surgeries to super clinics and community health centres. Magali has been a presenter and guest speaker for organisations such as the Australian Primary Care Nurses Association (APNA), the Department of Health (Vic), Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and Cancer Council among others. She is currently the clinical director at HotDoc where she also runs a series of free CPD webinars for General Practice.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Describe the purpose of Accreditation in General Practice including benefits and opportunities for quality improvement
- Outline the steps involved in the Accreditation process from registration through preparation, self-assessment, and the practice survey visit
- Identify practical ways to involve the practice team through all stages of the Accreditation process
- Discuss strategies and resources to address the most challenging and commonly unmet standards
